In terms of information of the population, the city of Wil is breaking new ground. The information will no longer be published weekly as of June 1 of this year in the newsletter "Wil aktuell", but will be kept up-to-date on the different channels. In order to reach younger people and be faster with the inhabitants, the city is now operating a WhatsApp channel. With Facebook and LinkedIn, two social media channels are also served.

In addition, the city of Wil has a new official publication organ. The City Council has decided to publish the official publications on the cantonal publication platform on the Internet. In addition, a print service is offered on request by the city chancellery. This ensures that non-Internet-savvy people can view the publications. Residents can register for this in May. The "Wiler Zeitung" and the "Wiler Nachrichten", which used to be official publication organs, were no longer taken into account. Flexible cooperation with the two Wiler Print newspapers and online platforms such as hallowil.ch will continue.

More flexible communication possible

"Official publications are already being consulted electronically. However, these publications are not legally binding today. After the enactment of the cantonal publication law and with the help of the cantonal publication platform, this deficiency can be eliminated », writes the city in a communication. And further: "The possibility of daily publication also ensures that these are published promptly and the respective deadlines begin to run accordingly. This enables an acceleration of various administrative procedures. By means of corresponding search subscriptions, the users of the publication platform are made directly aware of new publications. »(Sk / red)
